Toys!
Here are some new toys I have ordered. Firstly, I'm replacing my old "Happy Hacker" with a new one. If you look closely you will notice it has arrow keys! That's the only thing I missed on my old one. These keyboards are Unix keyboards and have a small footprint. They also have the best feeling keys of any keyboard I have ever typed on. Plus no dang annoying Windows key. Because remember, "Windows Sucks". I can't wait to get it!
Secondly, yesterday I bought us a big old HP kick ass photo printer from J&R. $240.00 retail. Black Friday price, $69.00. I just couldn't pass it up. ;-)
Last but not least, my new MP3 player. All I can say is "WOW". It sounds awesome. 2 gig flash, 20 hour rechargable battery. Small, lightweight, plays MP3's, WMA's, Oggs, Jpg images and Mp4 video. Works as a UMS device so just plug, drag and drop. So far I have owned an iPod, Sony, iRiver and a Sansa and I got to say that this U3 "eats their lunch". I highly recommend this device. *****
More to come, Mark

Love of our lives, Erica
We lost our precious Erica Monday morning. She had a heart defect since birth. Her parents, David and Andy were trying to get her into UT for heart surgery. She just didn't have enough time to make the waiting list before The Lord called her home. It's hard sometimes but I know we must always trust in him. It's been a rough week for all of us here. Erica is gone to heaven but she will live on in our hearts until we can see her again. Below is a picture of her little grave next to Barny's. A stone has been ordered and I will post a picture as soon as we get it set.
Trip to Del Rio!
Well, I know it's been a while since I updated the Blogg. There has been a lot going on with personal stuff and the "Holidays". This are some pics i took at our friends house in Del Rio, Mike and Tina. While I was there I took a picture of a big old Hornets nest and I don't know what it is about the picture but I like it. I thought I would post it and get your reactions. More to come, Mark

Ohio Linuxfest
Well, Donna and I went to Columbus for the "Ohio Linuxfest" this weekend. We had to drive up Saturday morning since Donna had to work. I will never try anything like that again. We were so tired when we arrived that it was just impossible to enjoy the show.
We saw Chris DiBona of "Google" give his presentation. Then we went around to the booths, picked up some "swag" and met a few people.
I particilarly wanted to meet my buddies from "The Linux Link Tech Show" That was very cool. Below is a picture of me and Pat. We also got to meet Bob Whitinger and Don Parris of "LXer.com".
We got so tired we decided to go back to the hotel, take a nap and return later for the "after conference" party at the Holiday Inn, which BTW, we couldn't get a room at becaues it was full. We were refered to the "Midwest Hotel" by the Linuxfest people. NEVER stay there! The room was filthy and old. We took a nap in our clothes and drove back last night. Man, were we tired.
To sum it up, the trip was pretty much a disaster. Lessons learned? Make damn sure you know in advance your hotel is not a "#^*@ - hole". And give yourself enough enough time to get there so you can be well rested. I think this is our last Linuxfest until someone has one a little closer to Tennessee.
